Civitan Club golf tournament raises $6,200 for nonprofits

The Civitan Club raised $6,250.51 at its 21st annual golf tournament recently. The proceeds will benefit several nonprofit organizations.

Those organizations include: Area kitchens/food pantries; Berkshire Community TV's Know Your Berkshires; Berkshire County Special Olympics; The Elizabeth Freeman Center; Boy Scouts of America; Springfield Technical Community College Civitan Club; The Redfield Center; and The Christian Center.

Other recipients include: Riverbrook; Moments House; Christmas dinner to elderly/disabled; the Civitan International Research Foundation; Cystic Fibrosis; Destiny's Ride; Feed My Sheep meals; the Gladys Brigham Center; the George Crane Center; and HospiceCare of the Berkshires.

Also, Little League; Pittsfield Area Council of Churches Oil Fund; Salvation Army monthly meals; and the Tanzania Nursing School Scholarship Program.

WilliNet holding its annual meeting on Tuesday

Community TV for Williamstown (WilliNet) will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at its studios on 34 Spring St.

The meeting begins at 4:45 p.m. The public is invited. Board members Marge Chamberlain, Sue Hogan, Elinor Goodwin, Juliana Haubrich, Jonathan Leamon, Jen Civello, David Lachman and Susan Puddester will be in attendance.

BSC in NYC gala raises over $100,000 for initiative

Barrington Stage Company's third annual BSC in NYC Gala last month attracted 150 patrons and raised over $100,000 to benefit BSC's News Works Initiative.

The New Works Initiative is a program that funds the creation of plays and musicals at Barrington Stage.
