Business Briefs: Columbia County board honoring former Berkshire doctor

GHENT, N.Y. >> The Columbia County Services Board will posthumously honor former Berkshire doctor Denny Marcus at its 16th annual dinner on Wednesday.

The event takes place at 5 p.m. at Kozel's Restaurant in Ghent. The cost is $30. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Marcus, who died in 2015, represented the Berkshires for five years as a participating member of the Governor's Commission on Mental Health State Advisory Council.

He worked at Main Street Human Resources in Great Barrington. In 1987, he incorporated South County Psychiatric and Psychotherapy Center as the smallest licensed out patient mental health clinic in Massachusetts.
