County Retirement Board seeking one new member

The Berkshire County Retirement Advisory Council is calling for the nomination and election of one elected member of the Berkshire County Retirement Board.

Any active or retired member of the Berkshire County Retirement System is eligible to serve in this position. The term of office is three years, beginning in January 2017.

To qualify for nomination, a retirement system member must secure the valid signatures and addresses of at least five active and/or retired members of the Berkshire County Retirement System.

Nomination papers are currently available at the Berkshire County Retirement System's office at 29 Dunham Mall in Pittsfield, or at any local town treasurer's office. The deadline for submitting nomination papers to the retirement board is 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Upon proper qualification and certification of the papers, the Advisory Council will set a date for the election.

Rockwell Museum adds five new trustees to board

Robert Babcock, Peter Blum, Terry Burman, Marian Raser and David Schwartz have been elected new members of the Norman Rockwell Museum's Board of Trustees.

Board members Brian Alberg, Alexander Brown, Anthony Consigli, Walter and Mary Jo Engels, William Hargreaves and George and Valerie Kennedy were also re-elected to three year terms.

The board's other members are Robert T. Horvath, Alice Carter, Jamie Williamson, John V. Frank and Peter Williams.

New members for the National Council are Elizabeth Bender and William Zavarello of Akron, Ohio; Douglas Clark and Ruth Ann McNeese of Saratoga, Calif.; and Tucker Reed of New York, N.Y.
