Deadline for Pitch Competition submissions is Thursday

The deadline to submit applications for 1Berkshire's third Pitch Competition event is Thursday. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 3 at the Stationery Factory, 63 Flansburg Ave.

The sessions are designed to identify entrepreneurs and small business owners who want the opportunity to promote their idea/venture, have the chance to win a small cash prize, and meet a group of potential mentors.

The topic is food/farming/agriculture #TasteBerkshires.

Tonio Palmer of Tyringham, Gabriella Sheehan of Pittsfield and Peter Nugent and Michelle Murphy of Lanesborough finished first through third recently in the second of 1Berkshire's three pitch competitions.

Palmer received the first place prize of $1,000 for the product, Wizzy Wrap, an innovative and elegant way to wrap gifts with fabric or other reusable materials.

Freelancers holding self-publishing meeting

The Upper Hudson Chapter of the Editorial Freelancers Association will hold "Working with Indie Authors" on Thursday at Chatham Town Hall, 488 State Route 295. The hours are 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Market 32 to host "Homegrown Market Day"

More than a dozen local and regional suppliers for Market 32 will be in attendance at "Hometown Market Day", which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Blue Heron Farm; Berkshire Grown; Jaeschke's Orchards; and Ooma Tesoro's of Windsor will participate.
