Dohoney named president of Berkshire Bar Association

Attorney Richard Dohoney of the law firm of Donovan & O'Connor has been named president of the Berkshire Bar Association. He will serve a two-year term as president.

A native of Great Barrington, Dohoney has been an active member of the BBA, serving as a member of its executive committee for six years.

He has also served on the Civil Litigation Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association. Dohoney has practiced law in Berkshire County since 2004.

Adams Bank employees raise $25,000 for cancer firms

The employees of Adams Community bank raised $25,202 for local cancer organizations Moments House and Pop Cares through a series of fundraising events.

The events included "dress down" on designated days, customers' participation in "Drop Your Change for Cancer", the purchasing of paper ribbons, a cornhole tournament at Cheshire Rod & Gun Club, Mexican Night at the Richmond Grille in North Adams, and a golf tournament at Stamford Valley Golf Course.

BBB awards Berkshire Bank for marketplace excellence

The Better Business Bureau of Central New England has recognized Berkshire Bank with the 2016 Award for Marketplace Excellence in the Large Business category.

The award recognizes business for their commitment to ethical business practices, community involvement and for treating their customers, suppliers and employees with courtesy and respect.

The BBB of Central New England services central and western Massachusetts along with northeastern Connecticut.

The county's largest bank, Berkshire Bank is located in Pittsfield.
