Hastings VP of Institutional Development at MCLA

Mary F. Hastings, a development executive with roots in Northern Berkshire, has been named vice president of institutional development at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Hastings, who grew up in Williamstown, has previously served as the executive director of the American London Symphony Orchestra Foundation; as acting chief development office for The Boys' Club of New York; and as director of development for The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and the New School of Drama.

She has also served as director of special events for The Foundation for Jewish Culture; and as director of education and community outreach at the Bloomingdale School of Music.


Casdin joins Berkshire South's board of directors

Sharon Casdin has become a board member of the Berkshire South Regional Community Center, the organization has announced.

A long-time Berkshire resident, Casdin joins current board members Edith Patterson (chair), Peter Brewer, Richard Counts III, Kay Cuthbertson, Ben Harms, Robert Harrison, Adam Hersch, Gordon Josephson, Rita Kasky, Barbara Manring and Robert Montgomery.

Casdin is a retired floral designer who divides her time between Manhattan and Ashley Falls.

1Berkshire will hold "Blogging for Business", a Brown Bag Seminar, on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at Central Station, 66 Allen St.
