Hotel on North is honored by Architectural Digest

Hotel on North in Pittsfield has been named by Architectural Digest as one of the magazine's 10 "Favorite New American Hotels" in 2015.

The 45-room lodging establishment on North Street, Pittsfield's first boutique hotel, is owned by David and Laurie Tierney and managed by Main Street Hospitality Group of Stockkbridge.

It opened in June and is located in a pair of buildings built in the 1880s that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Eben House in Provincetown also made the list. The eight other selections are all located in or around major cities.

Attorney to speak when BAPLS meets on Feb. 10

Attorney Kenneth Ferris of Pittsfield will speak on housing court and title issues when the Berkshire Association for Paralegals and Legal Secretaries meets on Wednesday, Feb. 10.

The meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. at Zucchini's Restaurant, 1331 North St.

The cost is $25 for BAPLS members, and $30 for non-members.

Berkshire attorney selected for 2015 top Boston lawyer's list

Attorney Steven J. Schwartz of Monterey has been selected for Legal Leaders: Boston's Top Rated Lawyers List for 2015.

Schwartz was selected for his work in business and commercial and trust and estate law.

He is one of the six attorneys from the Springfield law firm Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin that were selected for the 2015 Boston top rated lawyer's list.
