Jackson named to Greylock FCU's board
Tyrone A. Jackson has been selected as the newest member of the Greylock Federal Credit Union's volunteer board of directors, the financial institution has announced.
Jackson fills the seat vacated by former President and CEO Marilyn L. Sperling, who retired in October. He has served on Greylock's supervisory committee for the past year.
Jackson is head of Big Head Books LLC, a literacy organization that he founded in 2011.
His previous experience includes positions with four Berkshire businesses, and a firm in Little Ferry, N.J.
NBT promotes Durkee to executive vice president
Matthew K. Durkee has been promoted to executive vice president at NBT Bank, according to president and CEO Martin Dietrich.
Durkee joined NBT in 2009 to lead the bank's expansion into Vermont and establish a regional headquarters in Burlington. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the banking industry.
Prior to joining NBT, Durkee served as senior vice president of regional financial services and president of Chittenden Canada for People's United Bank in Bridgeport, Conn., and its predecessor, Chittenden Bank, in Burlington, Vt.
A resident of Williston, Vt., Durkee holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Green Mountain College and a graduate degree in banking from the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Berkshire Life grants $127,000 to nonprofits
The Berkshire Life Charitable Foundation has awarded $127,437 in grant funding to 27 local organizations that support a broad variety of programs for Berkshirer County citizens living with disabilities.
Since its inception in 2001, the foundation has awarded more than 320 grant containing a cumlative financial contribution to the community of over $1.5 million.
