Jacob's Pillow names new director of development

Elissa Haskins-Vaughan has been named director of development at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, the organization has announced.

She will work closely with incoming director Pamela Tatge and managing director Andrea Sholler to determine and achieve the Pillow's fundraising goals.

Haskins-Vaughn comes to Jacob's Pillow from Hancock Shaker Village where she most recently served as director of development.

She holds a bachelor degree in women's studies from Mount Holyoke College and a masters in museum studies from the University of Newcastle in the United Kingdom.

Red Lion Inn gift shop manager retiring; starting new business

Jayne Church will be retiring from her position as gift shop manager for the Red Lion Inn at the end of April. She has served in the position for 18 years.

Church is in the process of setting up a new business, Great Stuff. She will visit gift shops, museum shops, galleries, book stores and other venues to sell locally produced merchandise for re-sale. She will begin contacting retailers in mid-June.

Adams Bank hosting transition to college seminar May 4

A panel of experts from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will present a seminar on the transition to college life at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4 at the Orchards Hotel.

The event is free and open to the public.
