Jacob's Pillow names marketing director
Jennifer Young has joined Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival as director of marketing and communications, the nonprofit has announced.
A Pittsfield resident, Young will work with Director Pamela Tatge and Managing Director Andrea Sholler to set the Pillow's strategy for all efforts related to marketing, ticket sales, audience development, patron services, public relations and interdepartmental and external communication.
Young has 20 years of marketing experience in the health and wellness sectors, including positions at the Lewis Family Foundation, Berkshire Health Systems and Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health.
Bike mechanic honored by trade organization
Ron Gainer Jr. of Velo Domestique in Chatham, N.Y. has been named Mechanic of the Week by the Professional Bicycle Mechanics Association.
Gainer is both the owner and mechanic at Velo Domestique, the Chatham area's only four-season pro bike shop. Prior to opening Velo Domestique earlier this year, Gainer worked extensively in shops and as a pro race mechanic for neutral support and Department of Defense (Wounded Warrior) programs. He continues to work with both Mavic Special Service Course (SSC) and SRAM Neutral Race Support (NRS) during the road season.
The PBMA's mission is to promote, develop and advocate for the professional bicycle mechanic.
