Literacy Network receives grant from Bankers Association
The Literacy Network of South Berkshire has received a $5,000 grant from the Massachusetts Bankers Association Charitable Foundation.
Jay Anderson, the president/CEO of Pittsfield Cooperative Bank and Lori Gazzillo, the director of the Berkshire Bank Foundation, nominated LitNet for the award.
The Berkshire Family YMCA and Dalton Community Recreational Associated also received grants from the Bankers Association Charitable Foundation at and award ceremony in Springfield on Dec. 14.
Greylock names 2015 "Spirit of Giving" recipients
The Greylock Federal Credit Union has announced the recipients of its "Spirit of Giving" campaign. They resulted from 14 department/teams with the credit union choosing worthy causes or organization, to which Greylock donated each $1,000.
Greylock also gave each of these chosen organizations a $250 gift card from a local grocery store to "pay forward" to a !charity, or worthy cause of their choice.
Those organizations include: Berkshire County Kids' Place; Special Olympics Berkshire County; Moments House; Elder Services of Berkshire County; Construct; Pediatric Development Center; and PopCares Inc.
The other recipients include: Kiwanis Club; Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter; Berkshire County Arc; Soldier On; The Dream Center; Neighbor-to-Neighbor Fund; and St. John Paul the Great Good Pantry.
The Greylock Federal Credit Union is located in Pittsfield and has branches located throughout Berkshire County. It also operates Greylock Insurance Agency, Greylock Investment Group, Greylock Marketing Group and Greylock Employee Benefit Services, which offers comprehensive consultation.
