Local "Barefoot Contessa" episode to air on Sunday

The town of Great Barrington will be the featured location for this week's holiday episode of the "Barefoot Contessa" television show featuring chef Ina Garten.

The show will feature a holiday getaway to Great Barrington where Garten and her husband, Jeffrey, kick off the festive season with a winter weekend of food that incudes a Berkshire-inspired lunch,

"A Barefoot Holiday" will premiere on Sunday on the Food Network.

Robin's Candy at 288 Main St. will air the show at 1 p.m. on Sunday on a large screen television donated by Tune Street.

Greenagers receive EPA educational grant

Greenagers Inc. of Great Barrington is one of four state organizations that have received environmental education grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The organization was given $36,700 for a two-year project called Crafting the Landscape. Greenagers will work with two middle schools and a cooperative grocery store in an after-school and summer environmental education project.

The Massachusetts Audubon Society, which has a branch in Lenox, was given $69,632 for a two-year project called Building Climate Action Communities. This project will create a regional model for working climate change into training and project planning.

Berkshire South prepares 200 meals for Thanks Supper

Chef Tommy Lee prepared more than 200 free Thanksgiving meals for the public at Berkshire South Regional Community Center's eighth annual Community Thanks Supper on Nov. 24.

Over 70 volunteers served the meals and cleaned the auditorium.
