NBT Bank named top institution by LPL Financial

NBT Bank was recently named 2015 Financial Institution of the Year at the 12th annual LPL Financial Services Program Leadership Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

NBT was nominated by LPL growth consultants and selected from more than 750 financial institutions based on quantitative and qualitative factors including year-over-year growth, thought leadership and innovation.

Based in Norwich, N.Y., NBT has Berkshire branches in Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, North Adams and Pittsfield.

CET receives environmental merit award from the EPA

The Center for Eco Technology in Pittsfield is one of 16 state entities that have received 2016 Environmental Merit Awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

CET received its award during a recent ceremony at EPA's New England office in Boston.

The Environmental Merit Awards, which are given to people who have already taken action, are awarded in several categories.

CET was honored in the business category.

Noble appointed president of G.B. Land Conservancy

Carl Noble, a Great Barrington psychologist, has been appointed president of the Great Barrington Land Conservancy.

Noble served as recording secretary for the conservancy's board of directors for three years for more than three years. Before joining the organization, she was a strong advocate for Great Barrington's adoption of the Community Preservation Act.

Noble grew up in New York City visiting the Berkshires with her family, and became a full-time Berkshire resident in 2010. The organization promotes land conservation.
