NEPR expanding Tanglewood broadcast offerings

New England Public Radio has added Saturday afternoon broadcasts of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from Tanglewood to its regular Sunday afternoon offerings.

Beginning each Saturday at 1 p.m., NEPR's Saturday broadcasts will feature performances from the previous week at Tanglewood.

NEPR's Tanglewood broadcast of BSO performances begins this Sunday at 2 p.m. The Saturday afternoon broadcasts begin on Saturday, July 16 and will continue through Sept. 3.

Tanglewood broadcasts can be heard throughout the Berkshires on 101.1 FM (Adams/North Adams); 98.7 FM (Great Barrington); 98.3 FM (Lee); 106.1 FM (Pittsfield/Lenox); and 96.3 FM (Williamstown).


Bicycle mechanic honored by PBMA trade organization

Ron Gainer Jr. of Velo Domestique in Chatham, N.Y. has been named Mechanic of the Week by the Professional Bicycle Mechanics Association.

Gainer is both the owner and mechanic at Velo Domestique, the Chatham area's only four-season pro bike shop. Prior to opening Velo Domestique earlier this year, Gainer worked extensively in shops and as a pro race mechanic for neutral support and Department of Defense (Wounded Warrior) programs.

Berkshire financial advisor honored by Edward Jones

Financial advisor Walter Lother of North Adams has received the "TNT" Client Development Award from Edward Jones for his outstanding service efforts over the past year.

Only 504 of the firm's 14,000 financial advisors received the award. A Fortune 500 company, Edward Jones provides financial services for individuals investors in the United States and in Canada.
