New design shop opening on Main St. on Saturday

HoB ToP, a design company specializing in hobby-related t-shirts bearing original pen-and-ink drawings from local artist John Broderick, will formally open at 10 a.m. Saturday at 208 Main St.

Broderick has created more than 40 designs that include numerous sports themes and hobbies such as gardening.

While this week marks the opening of the first physical storefront, HoB ToP has been selling its designs for more than 15 years. Broderick has an active website and has sold his shirts through retailers and other organizations, including the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.

PITTSFIELD
Catalogued antique auction scheduled for Sept. 10

A set of eight multi-paned glass windows, dated 1913 and executed by Tiffany Studios in New York that depict The 8 Beatitudes of Jesus will be offered at a catalogue antiques auction held at Fontaine's Auction Gallery on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The auction will feature over 600 quality antiques, including a pair of Chinese teak and porcelain floor screens, and a Seth Thomas clock. The full catalog along with auction terms and conditions can be viewed online at www.FontainesAuction.com.

Eversource pruning trees around power lines

Eversource is currently pruning trees in several area communities to improve service reliability in Berkshire County.

The work is taking place on side streets in Becket, Dalton, Hinsdale, Lee, Middlefield, Otis, Peru, Pittsfield, Richmond and Washington.

Weather-permitting, Eversource expects the pruning work to be completed by the end of this year.
