New staffer joins Berkshire Parkway Realty

Trish Petricca has joined the staff of Berkshire Parkway Realty LLC, broker/owner Todd Tyer has announced.

She previously worked in real estate for Wheeler & Taylor. She has also worked for Sheraton Group and as a staff accountant for Berkshire Health Systems.

Petricca lives in Pittsfield.


Guardian Life awards grants to 13 nonprofits

The Guardian Life Insurance Company, the parent company of Guardian Berkshire Life, has awarded grants totaling $111,000 to 13 Berkshire nonprofits whose programs benefit Berkshire County citizens.

This year's recipients predominately operate in the fields of financial empowerment, workforce development, and health and wellness.

This 2016 recipients are: 1Berkshire; Berkshire Children and Families; Berkshire Community Action Council; Berkshire County Regional Employment Board; Berkshire Health Systems; Berkshire Museum; and Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity.

Also receiving grants are: Construct Inc; Elizabeth Freeman Center; Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts; MCLA Foundation (Berkshire Compact); Miss Hall's School and the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.

Nonprofit Center holding workshop on Tuesday

The Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires will host a workshop on program evaluation on Tuesday at October Mountain Financial, 103 West St.

"The Use of Surveys in Program Evaluation," taught by Mary Nash, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $40 for nonprofit center members, and $50 for non-members. Registration:, 413 645-3151.

Two chamber networking nights in October

The Williamstown Chamber of Commerce will hold networking nights at Security Supply in North Adams on Wednesday, Oct. 5 and at Wild Oats Market on Tuesday, Oct. 25. Both events will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Security Supply is located at 50 Roberts Drive in North Adams. Wild Oats Market is in Williamstown.
