Police Officers Union launches fundraising campaign

Pittsfield Police Department Officers Union IBPO 447 is conducting its annual fundraising campaign to raise funds to contribute to the community as the organization has done in the past.

IBPO 447 has for many years contributed to the various community organizations, and sponsored youth sports and events such as Girls Inc. (Catholic Youth Center) youth basketball; and the Pittsfield Little League.

The union has also given numerous scholarships to seniors going to college to assist them with their financial burdens.

The fundraising company TCI will be contacting businesses and residents soliciting donations, not officers or members of the Pittsfield Police Department.

Loan officer qualifies for prestigious company honor

Jamie Pollard of Dalton, sales manager for Academy Mortgage, has qualified for the company's prestigious President's Club based on his production in 2015.

The President's Club consists of Academy Mortgage's highest performing loan officers.

Pollard's success was measured on the number of individuals and families he helped purchase homes for last year.

Eustis to speak at Good News Business Salute March 23

Main Street Hospitality Group CEO Sarah Eustis will be the keynote speaker when the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce holds a Good News Business Salute on Wednesday, March 23 at Crissey Farm, 476 Stockbridge Rd.

The hours are 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 to $45.
