Price Chopper recalls Central Market chocolate ice cream
Price Chopper and Market 32 Supermarkets have issued a voluntary recall on 48 ounce, Central Market Classics Chocolate Ice Cream with a UPC Code of 4173507233.
The product is being recalled due to possible strawberry cross contamination. There is no health risk for those who are not allergic to strawberries.
Customers with the affected product should return it to Price Chopper for a full refund. Information: pricechopper.com; 800-666-7667, Option 3.
State gas prices increase by nine cents from last week
A rebound in oil prices combined with refinery slowdowns for season maintenance have caused a significant increase in gas prices in Massachusetts, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA's survey of state gas prices on Monday found self-serve regular averaging $1.79 per gallon, a jump of nine cents over last week.
The state price is still 15 cents lower than the national average for unleaded regular of $1.94. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 60 cents higher at $2.41.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey of regular unleaded is 35 cents, from $1.59 to $1.94.
Public Health Fair at Mount Carmel Care Center
"Springing into a Healthy Lifestyle". a public health fair, will take place on Tuesday, March 29 at Mount Carmel Care Center, 320 Pittsfield Road. The hours are 1 to 4 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. It will include an array of complementary healthy foods as well as health screenings, including blood pressure and cholesterol.
