Price Chopper recalls Central Market ice cream product

Price Chopper and Market 32 Supermarkets have issued a voluntary recall on 48 ounce Central Market Classics Caramel Caribou Ice Cream.

The product is being recalled due to the possible presence of metal shavings.

Most of the customers who purchased these items have already been contacted through Price Chopper's SoundBite notification program, which uses purchase data and consumer phone numbers on file in connection with the company's AdvantEdge (loyalty card) to alert households that may have purchased the product in question.

Customers with the affected product should return it to their local Price Chopper for a full refund. In the Berkshires, Price Chopper operates stores in Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox and North Adams and a Market 32 in Pittsfield.

Peterson joins Berkshire Surgical Services of BMC

Dr. Clayton Peterson has been appointed to the medical staff of Berkshire Medical Center and the physician staff of Berkshire Surgical Services of BMC.

Peterson received his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
