Sadighi honored by Berkshire Medical Society

Pittsfield surgeon Parvis J. Sadighi has been honored by his peers of the Berkshire District Medical Society as the district's 2016 Community Clinician of the Year.

He will receive the award at the District's annual meeting on Tuesday, April 26 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Pittsfield.

The Community Clinician of the Year Award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the society's 20 district societies who has made significant contributions to her or her patients and community.

Sadighi completed his internship and residency at Berkshire Medical Center from 1965-70. He joined BMC in 1972 and became chairman and program director of the Department of Surgery in 1981.

Attorney joins Hochberg Law offices in Pittsfield

Joshua C. Hochberg has joined Hochberg Law Offices as an associate attorney.

Hochberg had served as a member of the Committee for Public Counsel Services, Public Defender Division since 2010. For three years, he served as a public defender in Central Berkshire District Court in Pittsfield handling misdemeanors and felonies. He has spent the past two years handling felonies as a public defender in Berkshire Superior Court.

Hochberg graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder with a bachelor of science degree in finance in 2006. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law in May 2010. During law school, Hochberg was awarded the Kessler Trial Advocacy Scholarship from Hofstra School of Law and the Frank H. Wright Scholarship from the Berkshire Bar Association.

RICHMOND
Berkshire HorseWorks names board of directors

Berkshire HorseWorks has named its first board of directors since receiving 501(C)3 nonprofit status in January 2015.

Don Fulford was named chairman; Don Granger, vice president; Mark Casagrande, treasurer; and John Krol, special superintendent. Jack Quinn, Steve Hoff, Jim Clark, Elise Abrams and Barbara Newman also joined the board.

Berkshire HorseWorks provides EAGALA Equine Assisted Learning and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
