Schutz appointed executive director of Shaker Museum

Lacy Schutz has been appointed executive director of the Shaker Museum/New Lebanon by the organization's board of trustees. She will assume her appointment on Feb. 1.

Most recently, Schutz had served as the Chief Administrative Officer for exhibitions and collections at the Museum of the City of New York, where she had been since 2009. Before that, Schutz was the founding archivist and records manager at the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown.

Originally from Lincoln, Neb., Schutz holds a master of science degree in information and library science from Pratt Institute, and a master of fine arts in writing from Bennington College.

Nominations open for EPA Environmental Merit Awards

The Environmental Protection Agency is accepting nominations for the 2016 Environmental Merit Awards in New England.

Award categories are available for individuals, businesses, governmental entities, and other organizations. Awards are also given under a lifetime achievement category. These regional awards have been given out annually since the EPA was created in 1970.

This year EPA will also be awarding the Children's Environmental Health Award.

The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, Feb. 12. Information:
