Single-family home sales increase in February

Sales of single-family homes increased 42 percent in Berkshire County in February compared to the same month last year, according to the Warren Group of Boston, which tracks state real estate transactions.

A total of 91 single-family homes were sold in the Berkshires in February compared to 64 last year. Overall, year-to-date sales of single family homes in the Berkshires have increased 36 percent, from 124 to 169.

Sales of condominiums in the Berkshires also jumped significantly in February as eight were sold compared to one in February 2015. Year-to-date, 13 condos have been sold in the Berkshires compared to three last year.

Statewide, sales of single-family homes increased 30.8 percent in February. Year-to-date sales are up 27.8 percent.

MassDOT capital investment public meeting

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will hold a meeting to solicit public input on its five-year, multi-billion dollar Capital Investment Plan on Thursday, May 5 in Pittsfield.

The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at City Council Chambers, 70 Allen St.

The CIP program makes long-term multi-modal investments that cover all MassDOT highway and municipal projects, municipal and regional airports, rail and transit, including the MBTA and Regional Transit Authorities; and the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
