State gas prices up seven cents; third weekly jump

State gas prices rose seven cents per gallon this week, the third consecutive weekly increase, according to AAA Northeast. Over the last two weeks, state gas prices have jumped 16 cents.

AAA's survey of state gas prices Monday found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.86 per gallon. The Massachusetts price is 12 cents below the national average for regular unleaded at $1.98 per gallon. A year ago at this time, the average price was 46 cents higher at $2.32.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 36 cents from a low of $1.73 to a high of $2.09.

Berkshire South annual run/walk and breakfast April 3

Berkshire South Regional Community Center will holds its fourth annual 5k Run/Walk & Breakfast on Sunday, April 3 at the Housatonic "Housy Dome", 1064 Main St. in Housatonic.

All funds raised will support Berkshire South's Teen Outreach Nutrition Exercise (TONE) program as well as other youth health and welfare programs.

Registration for $25 per participant is available until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 1. Same day registration at $30 per participant will be accepted at the Housy Dome beginning at 8 a.m.
