UCP joins medical equipment reuse program as partner

UCP of Berkshire County has joined REquipment, a nonprofit funded by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, as a partner program. UCP will serves as a reuse center for the program in Western Massachusetts.

REquipment provides free gently-used, refurbished durable medical equipment to seniors and people with disabilities in Massachusetts. It accepts donations of gently used durable medical equipment that is no longer needed and distributes it free to people who cannot afford it or do not have adequate insurance.

Elder Services receives grant from Meals on Wheels

Elder Services of Berkshire County Inc. has received a $750 grant from Meals on Wheels America for its participation in Subaru of America's eighth annual Share the Love Event.

During the event, which took place from Nov. 22, 2015 to Jan. 2 2016, Subaru of America Inc. donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of participating charities.

Elder Services partnered with Haddad Subaru during the 2015 holiday season to raise funds and awareness of senior isolation and hunger in Berkshire County.

NORTH ADAMS
N.A. Partnership receives grant from MountainOne

The North Adams Partnership has received a $10,000 grant from MountainOne Bank in support of new welcome and wayfaring signage throughout North Adams.

The new signs and banners are being installed at the gateways to North Adams, welcoming local and the many tourists who visit the region each year.
