Youth Leadership Program accepting applications

The Youth Leadership Program, an initiative of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and 1Berkshire, is currently accepting applications for the Youth Leadership Class of 2017.

All paperwork and online applications must be received at the Chamber/1Berkshire office on 66 Allen St. in Pittsfield by 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26.

Current high school sophomores who will be entering their junior year in the fall are eligible to apply. Applications can be obtained at The tuition fee is $100. Limited tuition assistance is available based on need.

Fundraiser for Sonsini Animal Shelter at TD Bank on Friday

TD Bank will be holding a community coin counting event and fundraiser for the Friends of the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter Inc. on Friday at its Pittsfield branch on 99 West St.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. TD will match up to $2,000 in coins counted and donate it to the organization. The check presentation will take place between 4:30 and 5 p.m.


Pediatrician Snyder joins Community Health Programs

Dr. Barbara Snyder of Stockbridge has joined the Community Health Programs pediatric team specializing in adolescent medicine.

A pediatrician, Snyder served as chief of adolescent medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey from 1990-2015.

She holds a masters degree in social work from Columbia University, and is a fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics where she chairs the executive committee on adolescent health. Snyder has also published a number of peer-reviewed articles.
