Great Barrington: WMAIA elects board member

Robert E. Harrison was elected to the board of directors of the Western Massachusetts Chapter of the American Institute of Architects at a recent WMAIA meeting in Northampton. Harrison is the principal of Harrison Design Associates in Great Barrington.

A registered architect in Massachusetts, Harrison holds architectural licenses in Vermont, Connecticut and New York. He became Berkshire County's first LEED accredited professional in 2004, and holds dual degrees in architecture and fine arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. Harrison is also a board member of the WordXWord Festival and serves as a commissioner on the City of Pittsfield's Green Commission.

The WMAIA promotes excellence in architecture through professional development, community outreach, and the celebration of architecture in our region. Based in Amherst, it has over 200 members. Election to the board of directors is based upon an architect's outstanding contributions to the field.

Pittsfield: QualPrint wins three industry awards

QualPrint has received three awards in the Printing Industry of New England's Regional Awards of Excellence Competition.

The company received a pinnacle award for best of category, and two awards of recognition. The official announcement will be made at PINE's 2013 Industry Gala on April 4 in Newton.

PINEs Awards of Excellence Competition attracted more than 200 entries from 41 printing and imaging companies across New England competing in a variety of printing and graphic communications categories.

Lenox: Winstanley Partners earns best in show

Winstanley Partners received one best in show honor, along with two gold and nine silver honors at the 2013 Albany, N.Y., AdClub ADDY Awards. Three of the winning entries have advanced to the national level of ADDY's competition.

The best in show award went to Winstanley's 2012 holiday mailer, a vintage-inspired card and lip-balm titled, "Tannenbalm." This entry also received gold honors in the copy writing and self promotion categories. It will be presented for judging at the 2013 National ADDY Awards in June.

Winstanley also received awards in sales promotion; for consumer and trade publication; in digital advertising; for regional national television spots; for non-traditional advertising industry self promotion; for direct marketing specialty items; and in elements of advertising, photography campaign.
