Pittsfield: Daniel Proskin becomes BBE partner

Robert Proskin, the president of BBE Office Interiors on North Street, has announced that Daniel Proskin has become a partner in the business. Daniel has been working in sales at BBE since he was in high school.

Robert Proskin has been at BBE since 1977, when he began working with company founder, William Pomerantz. He was a partner at BBE before becoming the sole owner in 1998.

Daniel Proskin graduated with high honors from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in 2002 with a major in business administration and minor in computer science.

He serves on the board of directors for United Cerebral Palsy, and is active on the building, fundraising and marketing committees.

Daniel is also a member of Temple Anshe Amunim and sits on their religious school committee. He currently lives in Pittsfield, with his daughter Grace, fiancée, Alicia Stevenson, and her daughter Isabella Brown.

Adams: Wastewater Treatment Plant earns award

The Wastewater Treatment Plant in Adams has been selected to receive a 2012 Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Excellence Award by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The plant's staff, led by Superintendent Joe Fijal, and Operations Supervisor Richard Biros was recognized by EPA's New England Office for exceptional work in operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment plant. Staff members were acknowledged for their outstanding work on Jan. 30 at the annual New England Water Environment Association Conference in Boston.

The Adams plant was among five specific facilities in New England acknowledged for exemplary performance during 2012.

The EPA Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Excellence Award was established to recognize and honor the employees of publicly owned wastewater treatment plants for its commitment to improving water quality with outstanding plant operations and maintenance.

Pittsfield: Trumbull is speaker at monthly event

Alice Trumbull of Moments House will be the featured speaker on Monday, March 4 when Berkshire Business and Professional Women holds its next monthly dinner meeting.

The meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. at Mazzeo's Ristorante, 1015 South St. Networking takes place from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Dinner and the speaking program are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m.

RSVP is required. The deadline is Thursday, Feb. 28.
