Campus Notes: Area students recognized by colleges


Emerson College in Boston has named the following students to its dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester:

Dean Covert of Lanesborough, a cinematography/videography major;

Autumn Mawhinney of Richmond, a writing, literature and publishing major;

Kaitlyn Sullivan of Southfield, a communication studies major;

Sarina Tracy of Pittsfield, a journalism major.

Dean’s list requires a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.


The following area students have been named to the dean’s list at Westfield State University for the fall 2013 semester:

Jaclyn Farrell, a freshman from Dalton, is majoring in movement science with a concentration in sports medicine. She earned a 3.76 grade point average.

Aleah Kozlowski, daughter of Michalene Burta and Kyle Kozlowski of Pittsfield, is a senior majoring in liberal studies. She is a 2009 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Ashley McLaughlin, daughter of Chris and Jamie McLaughlin of Pittsfield, is a freshmen majoring in elementary education.

Nathan Staffin, son of David and Jill Staffin of Cheshire, is a junior majoring in criminal justice and minoring in business.

Bryanna Rose Wetherell, daughter of Warren J. Wetherell and Carol Strout of Hinsdale, is majoring in criminal justice.

To receive dean’s list status, a student must complete a minimum 12 hour (credit) semester with a GPA of at least 3.3, have no grade below a 2.0, and have no incomplete grades.
