Car accident on Route 8 in Cheshire sends woman to hospital
An Adams woman was taken to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after her vehicle was rear-ended while she was driving southbound along Route 8 in Cheshire, according to state police.
Cherylene Czaja was struck by a small dump truck around 12:48 p.m. after she brought her vehicle to a stop in front of a bicycle lane crosswalk slightly north of the Bedard Bros. vehicle dealership, according to Trooper David McKerney.
Peter Beaudoin, of Lanesborough, was driving the dump truck and he was cited with a civil motor vehicle infraction for not maintaining a safe distance between vehicles.
Czaja suffered minor injuries, including whiplash.
