Cases heard in Berkshire Superior Court, Jan. 30-31

Charles Davis, 36, of Lanesborough pleaded guilty before Judge John Agostini to a lone count of assault and battery. He was sentenced to 385 days to be served in the Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction.

The charge stems from an incident involving a 48-year-old Pittsfield man between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31, 2016.

One count of assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed by the state.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield, Adams and Dalton Police Departments, the Berkshire County Sheriff's Office, state troopers assigned to the District Attorney's Office and members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force.

Wednesday, Jan. 31

Shaun M. Dufur, 30, of Adams, pleaded guilty before Judge John Agostini to one count each of daytime breaking and entering into a building with the intent to commit a felony, conspiracy, larceny from a building and wanton destruction of property.

Dufur was sentenced to 21/2 years in jail on the breaking and entering charge and a two-year jail sentence on the remaining charges, to be served after the completion of his first sentence.

The charge stems from the break-in of a Hancock home May 9, 2017.

The investigation was conducted by state troopers from the Cheshire barracks.
