Cases heard in district court Jan. 7 - 8
In Southern Berkshire District Court on Thursday:
Hunter Bassett, 21, of Clayton Road, New Marlborough, submitted to sufficient facts for a plea of guilty to one count each of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He was fined a total of $765, ordered to surrender his license for 60 days and enter an alcohol education program. The case was continued without a finding until Jan. 5. 2017. He also submitted to sufficient facts to one count of failure to stop for a police officer. Charges of being in possession of alcohol in a vehicle and speeding were filed. He was found not responsible to charges of driving outside marked lanes and a lights violation.
In Northern Berkshire District Court on Friday:
Brahim Ainabi, 29, of Prospect Street, Plainfield, admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of operating under the influence that was continued without a finding until Jan. 9, 2017. He was fined $600.
Olive Bessette, 69, of Porter Street, North Adams, admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of assault and battery that was continued without a finding until March 7. She was fined $50.
Nicole Hosier, 44, of Egremont Avenue, Pittsfield, admitted to sufficient facts and was found guilty of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, third offense, and trespassing. She was fined $250.
Robyn Taylor, 27, of Dartmouth Street, Pittsfield, admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise that was continued without a finding until May 9. She was fined $50. A charge of trespassing was continued without a finding and dismissed.
