Cases heard in Northern Berkshire District Court


In Northern Berkshire District Court on Monday:

Michael Kogut, Jr., of Griffin Hill Road, Savoy, admitted to sufficient facts and was found guilty on three counts of improperly storing a firearm, three counts of possessing a firearm without a firearm identification card, and a single count of possessing ammunition without an FID card. He was fined $1,550 and ordered to surrender his firearms.

Brandon Smith, 20, of Mohawk Forest Boulevard, North Adams, had charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and disturbing the peace dismissed for a failure to prosecute because the victim was not present.

Jeremy Vigiard, 21, of Bellevue Avenue, Adams, had a charge of class B drug possession continued without a finding until March 11, 2016. He was fined $50. A charge of class E drug possession was dismissed upon the request of the commonwealth. Vigiard was found not responsible for speeding in violation of a special regulation.

Shana Griswold, 46, of Millard Avenue, Clarksburg, admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of aggravated assault and battery that was continued without a finding until Dec. 16, 2016. Griswold was fined $90 and ordered to pay $972.73 in restitution.
