Cases heard in Northern Berkshire District Court on March 2

In Northern Berkshire District Court on Wednesday:

Christopher Coulter, 29, of Hall Street, North Adams, had a charge of operating an uninsured motor vehicle dismissed upon the request of the commonwealth. He was found not responsible for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Raheem Ashley, 27, of Appleton Avenue, Pittsfield, admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle that was continued without a finding until April 1. He was fined $50. Ashley was also found not responsible for a motor vehicle not meeting Registry of Motor Vehicle safety standards.

Shane Baker, 36, of Montgomery Road, North Pownal, Vt., admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle that was continued without a finding until April 1. He was fined $50. Ashley was also found not responsible for a motor vehicle lights violation.

Ewan Parker, 31, of Onota Street, Pittsfield, was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was sentenced to one day in jail with one day of credit for time already served.

Francis Albis, Jr., 28, of Hudson Street, North Adams, was found guilty of class B drug possession.

Walezka Carmona, 22, of Harvard Street, Pittsfield, admitted to sufficient facts and was found guilty of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

George Becker, 27, of Warb Street, Bennington, Vt., admitted to sufficient facts and was found guilty of carrying a firearm without a firearm identification (FID) card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and improperly storing a firearm. He was fined $90, given a one year suspended jail sentence, and will serve probation until March 3, 2017.
