Cellphone ban needless, unsafe

In regard to the responses to Brian Sullivan August 23 column "Is education plan the right one?," I completely disagree and believe that the ban of cellphones is blowing the matter over proportion.

If you block the signal of cell phones it would be inconvenient for teachers and if a emergency would occur what would you do? Also won’t the lead curtain throw off the computer signals too?

Technology these days has been incorporated into our lessons and cell phones aren’t the only distractions in our schools. Taking away cellphones won’t take away the distraction of having friends at school and talking to them. Therefore taking cell phones away to "free them" will be useless and unnecessary.
