Challenger defeats incumbent for Washington select board
WASHINGTON — Patricia Drugmand is the town's newest selectman.
Drugmand defeated incumbent Shaun Lennon, 90-33 to capture the available Select Board seat during Saturday's annual town election.
The only contested race drew 123 of the town's 423 registered voters to the polls, a 29 percent turnout according to Town Clerk Allison Mikaniewicz.
The remaining candidates listed on the ballot ran unopposed: David Weissbrod and Kent Lew each grab three-year terms on the Finance Committee, Marilyn Wiley took the five-year stint on the Planning Board and Sandra Cameron is the tax collector for the next three years.
Ed Bond mounted a write-in campaign for moderator, his 30 votes plenty to win the position.
