Chatham, N.Y.: Concert celebrates 'Mediterranean Cello'

Bend the Knotted Oak's pianist Uel Wade and cellist Robert Reed will present an hour-long performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, in "The Jumbo Room" at 40 Church St.

They celebrate a love of "Mediterranean Cello," late 20th and early 21st century works from countries that hug the northern Mediterranean: Spain, France, Italy, Greece, and Turkey.

These "classical" composers employ folk materials of their countries, and Wade talks informally about some of the storied backgrounds.

Admission is $20; age 18 and under are free. For reservations, call 518-392-4697.
