Cheshire: Ice-fishing derby to aid ROPES camp

An ice fishing derby to benefit the Northern Berkshire R.O.P.E.S camp will be held Sunday, March 3, at Cheshire Lake.

The entry fee is $20. Payout for heaviest legal fish will be: First, $100; second, $75; third, $50.

There will be prizes for children; every child 14 and younger will receive a prize with paid adult. Ages 15 and older will need a ticket to be eligible for cash prizes.

Fishing will take place from sunrise until 2 p.m. No fish will be weighed in past 2:15 p.m. A live weigh-in will be at the boat ramp at first lake.

Pasta, pizza, prizes and 50/50 will be available at 2 p.m. at Bass Water Grill, Route 8.

Tickets are available at derby sponsors Bass Water Grill and J.C.B. Bait.
