Cheshire: LeFebvre graduates from Union College


Shauna L. LeFebvre, daughter of Peter and Carol LeFebvre of Cheshire, graduated from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., on June 12 with a bachelor of science cum laude in physics and minors in mathematics and classics.

While at Union College, she was a member of the Jazz Ensemble and Minerva Council, member and director of the Pep Band, and president of the Society of Physics Students.

A dean's list student, LeFebvre was also a member of Eta Sigma Phi Classics Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, Sigma Pi Sigma Physics Honor Society, Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society, and the Union Scholars Program.

She participated in the Union College Summer Research Program, spent a mini-term studying abroad in Ethiopia and was a summer intern with Society of Physics Students in Washington, D.C.

LeFebvre will continue her education in the optical engineering doctoral program at the University of Arizona, College of Optical Sciences, Tucson, Ariz.

She graduated from Hoosac Valley High School, Cheshire, in 2012.
