In "The Revolutionists," four remarkable women — playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, activist Marianne Angelle and former queen Marie Antoinette — lose their heads in this irreverent comedy set during the French Revolution.
WAM artistic director Kristen van Ginhoven is directing a cast that includes Maconnia Chesser as Marianne Angelle, Zoe Laiz as Charlotte Corday, Brenny Rabine as Olympe de Gouges and Kim Stauffer as Marie Antoinette.
Van Ginhoven's directing credits for WAM include "In Darfur," "Emilie," "The Old Mezzo," The Attic, The Pearls and Three Fine Girls," and "Melancholy Play." She also has worked with Adirondack Theatre Festival, Barrington Stage Company, Williams College, Cohoes (N.Y.) Music Hall, Capital Repertory Theatre, Emerson College, Siena College, The Huntington Theatre, and Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada.
Gunderson is an award-winning playwright living in San Francisco. She studied at Emory University and NYU's Tisch School of Performing Arts.
