'Circle Mirror Transformation': Return engagement set for weekend

GREAT BARRINGTON -- "Circle Mirror Transformation," a play by Anne Baker, is returning for a second run after a sold out engagement in March at Lifeworks Studio.

Performances begin 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mixed Company, 37 Rossetter St., where the production is scheduled to run through Sunday. Curtain is 7:30 nightly through Saturday and at 3 Sunday afternoon.

The play focuses on the dynamics among a group of strangers living in small Vermont town -- a high-school junior, a former actress, a carpenter, and the teacher’s husband -- who sign up for an adult drama class. Over this 6-week course relationships develop and what starts as ridiculous and at times seemingly pointless acting exercises turns into something entirely different and deeply personal.

The cast includes Rikke Borge, Samantha Cullen, Rebecca Rovezzi, Patrick Toole and Thomas Whaley.

Actor Jody Green is making his directorial debut with "Circle Mirror Transformation." Green studied acting in Pleasantville, N.Y., and at Brown University. He teaches theater at Mixed Company and hip-hop dance at Lifeworks Yoga Studio.
