Circus, animals are a bad mix

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

I’m writing to urge people not to attend the Dalton Lions’ Club Circus when it is in town. The Lions Club national organization discourages the use of animals in circuses to raise money, and yet each year the Dalton one keeps on using them, despite many other ways to raise money for the good works that it does.

If you have a business or organization that contributes to the Dalton circus, what you’re saying is that cruelty to animals is all right with your group or business. If you’re a parent, by taking your kids there, you’re showing them that cruelty is OK, and you’re desensitizing them to it.

Please care enough about the animals not to take part in this heartlessness.
