Clark to host night of fine art, dining

An intimate evening will pair fine art with fine dining at the Clark Art Institute on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Private access to "Splendor, Myth, and Vision: Nudes from the Prado," with a talk by exhibition co-curator Lara Yeager-Crasselt, begins at 6 p.m. in the Clark Center. A prix-fixe dinner in Café 7, served at communal tables and created by Executive Chef Dan Hardy, follows at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $75 ($70 members), which includes museum admission, dinner, tax, and gratuity (beverages extra). Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available upon advance request.
The menu includes tomato, cucumber, and romaine salad; roasted fingerling potatoes with lemon-chive smoked aioli; tortilla espanola; braised chicken and saffron rice with raisins and pine nuts; and warm bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream.

Homemade Pie Sale
Naomi Chapter No. 17, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold a homemade pie sale from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, on Holden Street, North Adams during DownStreet Art. Whole pies are $10 each; by the slice, $3.
Turkey dinner planned
The South Readsboro Community Club will host a turkey dinner with all the trimmings and blueberry shortcake for dessert from 5 to 7 p.m. at the clubhouse on Bosley Hill Road, Readsboro, Vt.
Adults are $12; children 5-11, $6.
Grillsdale, an all-inclusive evening of tasting grilled local food, and enjoying live local music and local libations that celebrate the bounty of the land, will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, in the Hilltop Barn at Roe Jan Park, 9140 Route 22, Hillsdale, N.Y.
The food will be created by an unique group of talented chefs of the "crossroads region," where the Berkshires meet the Hudson Valley. Noted chefs from up and down the Route 22 and 23 corridors (from Amenia to Chatham) will fire up their grills in a friendly competition designed to showcase not only their grill skills, but the incredible quality and range of meat and produce available from local and regional farms.
