College roundup: Kevin Donati earns America East Rookie of the Week

Former Pittsfield standout and current University at Albany shortstop Kevin Donati earned the America East Rookie of the Week award for the week of March 22.

He batted .333 over four games, with five hits, six runs scored, three RBI and five steals. He had a .444 on-base percentage and a .400 slugging percentage.

Women's Lacrosse

UNION 9, WILLIAMS 4

CLERMONT, FLA. >> Union College's Jessica Farland scored two of her team-high three goals in the first half, as the Dutchwomen rode a four-goal first-half lead to a win over Williams.

Farland started the second half with her final goal, but Emma Tenbarge and Micaela Dussel answered with goals for the Ephs, cutting the deficit to 9-6 with 21 minutes and 41 seconds left. The teams traded scores, before Union got goals from Cailin Pandolfi and Jackie Hagopian's, putting the game out of reach.

Tenbarge led Williams with three goals. Marget Drape made two saves. Ana Alvarenga made one save.

The Ephs return to action today at noon against Buffalo State.

SAGE 19, MCLA 5

NORTH ADAMS >> Sage College used a big offensive first half and a strong defensive second half to earn a commanding win over MCLA. Monica Koralus led the Gators with nine goals. Koralus and Ellen Abbott added two assists as well. Mackenzie Cutler led MCLA with two goals.

The Trailblazers will look to end their three-game losing streak Saturday, at 1 p.m. against Mitchell College.
