College Roundup: MCLA women's lacrosse registers OT victory


NORTH ADAMS — MCLA's Erin McNulty netted the winning goal in overtime, sending the Trailblazers to a 14-13 win over Southern Vermont College on Wednesday.

The 'Blazers overcame a three-goal first-half deficit to get the win. Natalie Caney started the comeback with a goal early in the second half. Rachel Green followed with a goal two minutes later. The Mountaineers responded with a 3-1 run, but MCLA closed on a 4-1 run of its own. Mackenzie Cutler led the way with four goals. Taylor Brewer, Caney and Green had three goals each. Zoe Elwell made 11 saves.

MCLA will host Framingham State on Saturday at 3 p.m.


MEDFORD >> Tufts started the game on a 6-0 run, building a significant lead and holding off late-charging Williams for the win.

Micaela Dussel scored Williams' first goal with 1 minute and 14 seconds left in the first. The Jumbos answered 15 seconds later, however, taking a 7-1 lead into halftime. Tuft scored two more goals, before the Ephs scored the final four goals of the game. Jenna Chodos led Williams with three goals.

Williams looks to end its two-game losing straight with a trip to Wesleyan (Conn.), Saturday at noon.

Men's Lacrosse


WILLIAMSTOWN >> John Uppgren and Jake Gillespie scored six goals each, leading Tufts over Williams.

Jack Lauroesch's first-period goal put Williams up 2-1 with 9 minutes and 24 seconds left. The teams traded goals before the Jumbos closed on a 3-1 run, taking a one-goal lead into the second period. The visitors would not trail again. Jack Lauroesch led Williams with four goals. Miles McCarthy made 10 saves.

Williams travels to face Wesleyan (Conn.), Saturday at 1 p.m.
