College Roundup: Williams men's lacrosse falls at Union

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — In its second game of the season, the Williams men's lacrosse team came up just short at Union.

Michael Fahey, Conor Roddy, Peter Crane, Greg Plumb and Jack Lee each scored twice for the Ephs. But Williams fell to a .500 record with a 12-11 loss to the Dutchmen. Nolan Stauffer scored four times to lead Union (2-1).

Williams jumped out to a 2-1 lead through one quarter but fell behind, 5-4, at halftime. The Ephs stormed back and took a 9-7 lead through three quarters before eventually leading, 11-7, following a Fahey goal with 9:56 remaining.

But the Ephs wouldn't score again. Instead, Union rattled off five consecutive goals to pull out the win.

Peter Richardson scored with 9:03 left before Stauffer pulled the Dutchmen within 11-9 a few minutes later. After Daniel Kycia scored back-to-back goals, with the latter tying the game at the 6:16 mark, Jack Scheufele recorded the game-winner with 4:39 remaining.

Miles McCarthy registered 11 saves for Williams while Sam Bebout had 13 for Union.
