College roundup: Williams women lose against rival Amherst
AMHERST — Ali Doswell scored 27 points, leading Amherst to a 66-54 win over Williams on Wednesday. Amherst improves to 19-0.
Williams' Amanni Fernandez scored a game-high 28 points in the losing effort.
Williams travels to Bridgewater State to face the Bears on Saturday at 2 p.m.

BRIDGEWATER >> Bridgewater State's defense shut down MCLA, earning a comfortable win. No Trailblazers players reached double figures scoring. Three Bears reached double figure scoring, led by Jennie Lindland's 17 points.
BRIDGEWATER STATE 64, MCLA 55, OT
BRIDGEWATER >> Bridgewater State outscored MCLA 17-8 in overtime, sending the Trailblazers to their seventh straight loss. Ryan Carney's 3-pointer put the Bears up by two with 1 minute and 6 seconds left in regulation. Khalil Paul missed a jump shot with four seconds left, but Paul Maurice grabbed the offensive rebound and scored the putback with two seconds remaining forcing overtime. The Bears started overtime with back-to-back 3-pointers. They did not trail during the extra period.
