Comedian Rita Rudner, two music groups added to Colonial lineup
PITTSFIELD >> Comedian Rita Rudner, the rock/jam band, Rusted Root, and Berkshires-based Miss B. Haven have been added to Berkshire Theatre Group's spring-summer lineup at The Colonial Theatre.
Rudner will be at The Colonial at 8 p.m. on July 29. Las Vegas' "Comedian of the Year" nine years running, Rudner appeared on Broadway in "Annie," "Mack & Mabel" and "Follies." Her television credits include "Late Night With David Letterman," "The Tonight Show" and several specials on HBO.
Rusted Root — 8 p.m. on May 14 — formed in Pittsburgh in the '90s. Their 1994 album, "When I Woke," went platinum and contained their hits "Send Me on My Way," "Ecstasy" and "Martyr." Throughout the '90s, the band toured with a number of established performers, including the Jimmy Page and Robert Plant reunion tours. Their most recent album is "The Movement."
The three-part harmony trio Miss B. Haven — Karen Auge, Wanda Libardi and Michele Marano — has been performing together for over 20 years, presenting songs from the 1920s to the present. Accompanied by pianist John Sauer, the threesome will be at the Colonial at 8 p.m. on May 20 in the venue's On the Stage Series, which features audience and performers together in an intimate setting on the Colonial stage. General admission seating is limited.
