Conn. man gets up to 7 years for Great Barrington stabbing, robbery
PITTSFIELD -- A Connecticut man was sentenced to five to seven years in state prison in connection with the 2012 armed robbery and stabbing of a 25-year-old Sheffield man during a drug deal.
Deon A. "Ace" Allen, of Waterbury, was found guilty of one count of armed robbery and one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
He was also found guilty of one count of intimidation of a witness.
The incident occurred in Great Barrington on Sept. 12, 2012, on Depot Street. The victim was allegedly stabbed twice in the arm and once in the abdomen.
Allen has been held in the Berkshire County Jail & House of Correction on $2,500 since his arrest in October.
The trial of Allen’s alleged accomplice, Kijuame Taftin, of Pittsfield and Connecticut, is scheduled for later this month. Taftin, free on $5,000 bail, allegedly assisted Allen in the attack.
