Constitution is on side of president

Section 4 of the XIVth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution contains the following language: "The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law Š shall not be questioned." Since raising the debt limit only allows the government to pay its bills for expenditures already authorized by Congress, it would seem to my unlettered eye that the president could simply tell the tea party yahoos in the House of Representatives to take a hike if they once again try to destroy the full faith and credit of the U.S., a move that would likely take the world economy down with it.

Mr. President, you have the XIVth Amendment on your side. Use it.
