Continued success for Ferrin Gallery

Saturday March 23, 2013

For 11 years, Ferrin Gallery co-owners Leslie Ferrin and Donald Clark brought to Pittsfield and Lenox professional contemporary exhibitions, an increased level of art commerce, community engagement, a regional creative identity, and increased opportunities to meet and engage with local, national, and international artists. Their dedication to and representation of local artists included those with established reputations and up-and-coming talent. They led as risk takers and ardent believers in the revitalization of downtown Pittsfield. This commitment included investment in street level space, creation of regionally themed exhibitions, Dish & Dine events, and participation in community programs, including First Fridays Artswalk, WordxWord Festival, and Call Me Melville among many others.

Ferrin Gallery’s investment in regional artists and its impact on the local tourism industry as well as the critical mass of creativity in the Berkshires has been and continues to be significant. They exported the work of these artists and brought collectors, quality exhibitions, and contemporary art fans to their gallery and the county. Although they will be missed in Pittsfield’s Upper North Street neighborhood, their representation of top ceramicists will continue at, in Cummington and national art fairs in Miami, Chicago, New York City, and Palm Beach. All of which continues to be a benefit to the creative economy and economy at large in Berkshire County.

We wish them continued success and express gratitude for their support of downtown Pittsfield and the many facets of the creative economy in the Berkshires.
